Radioterapi pada Karsinoma Sel Basal

Karsinoma sel basal (KSB) merupakan  kanker kulit yang paling sering terjadi, bersifat slow growing, invasif lokal, agresif dan destruktif  lokal, jarang bermetastasis, namun dapat menyebabkan kerusakan jaringan lokal dan cacat fungsional. Radioterapi sebagai terapi utama dalam kondisi tertentu mampu memberikan hasil yang baik. Begitu pula sebagai terapi adjuvan, radioterapi terbukti mampu menurunkan angka rekurensi dengan konsekuensi kosmetik minimal dan efek samping yang dapat ditoleransi. Oleh karena itu, pertimbangan radioterapi dalam tatalaksana KSB harus dimasukkan ke dalam pengambilan keputusan klinis dan manajemen multidisiplin.
